The Prometheus Blade is a newly developed piece of combat technology designed for warfare that sports a plasma-like blade that can manifest in varying colors. This invention serves not only as a formidable weapon but also as a symbol of leadership or power. Its exclusivity adds to its allure, as the high cost makes it accessible primarily to the affluent or politically powerful, further enhancing its prestige. The Prometheus Blade distinguishes itself from traditional martial weaponry with its unique features—its blade can be activated or deactivated at will, and in some cases cause ignition to some minor flammable objects. While Hextech has produced a comparable weapon in recent years, the Prometheus Blade stands out as the first Steamtech creation of its kind. It possesses the same capabilities as its Hextech counterpart but at a significantly lower cost, though it remains relatively expensive for the average individual. Despite its ingenuity, it does have some inherent weaknesses.
History
The history behind the creation of the weapon runs much deeper than it initially appears. The name "Prometheus" originates from a warrior named Prometheus Churchthron. He ingeniously combined two lethal elements – a flame and steel. By applying flammable substances to his sword, he hastily fashioned a blazing weapon to fend off his adversaries in battle. While effective, it was also perilous and rudimentary. Prometheus aspired to develop a more refined and stable iteration of this concept. Though stuck in a time of few technological advances, it was an archaic yet promising place to lay the foundations of the invention to come.
In present years technology advances day to day, and the infernal iron wight adopted into the Churchthorn family picked up the familial ancestor’s idea and sought to further improve the concept. Alistair Churchthorn and with the assistance and resources of Alexandre Silva and Silva Industries, worked day and night to produce the weapon using the technological advances of the current era as a template. The dangerous and rigorous work led the man to create a hilt connected to a battery pack that can be latched on the hip of the user. With the proper fuel capsule inside the battery pack, the user was able to unleash a blade of plasma that varies in color with the click of a switch. In honor of his relative Alistair dubs this blade as the Prometheus Blade.
Construction
This contraption comprises two components: a battery pack and a hilt. Both the battery pack and hilt are crafted from steel, copper, iron, and essential circuits. The battery pack is equipped with miniature steam engines and boilers, serving as the power source. Steam is generated through the combustion of coal or other combustible materials and stored in capsules that can be easily replaced
There is a network of pipes and valves inside the battery pack and the lower hilt. This mechanism is responsible for channeling the generated steam throughout the weapon. Once the steam flows through the pipes and into the hilt, it powers advanced steam turbine engines. These turbines play an important role in converting the flowing steam into kinetic energy. This mechanical motion generated from the turbine further generates energy suitable for producing an electric plasma-like blade.
Main Invention
Naturally, the main use of this contraption is its plasma blade. The sight of such technology has been claimed to be something that comes from the stuff of legends and literature. The plasma blade is a sign of intimidation, power, leadership and defense due to the cost of its manufacturing. It is something that people of power and wealth may crave due to its expensive materials and can often be seen sported on the belts of many aristocrats and military personnel. The blade is customisable, and its color changed at a whim by using materials within its battery pack that can aesthetically change the color of the plasma. The blade is a bookmark of the innovations of what people can achieve through technology. Whether they have their hands on the blade they could do many things with it.
The blade can clash against swords, blunt objects, and even other Prometheus Blades. Though being extremely hot, it can be held against metal for a considerably long periods of time without it doing permanent damage to the other weapon, or its own hilt. Hence it is known that when clashing with a sword, the metallic sword won’t automatically melt. It can cut through softer metallic substances such as gold, copper, etc. and easily flammable materials. However, once the blade makes contact with skin the weapon will burn the enemy with its heat, creating second degree burns to a foe.

Physical Characteristics
The battery pack comes in a rectangular shape that can be connected to the hip. You can open the pack to place and replace the fuel capsules that power the blade. A reinforced cable is connected to the hilt, which is constructed from iron and features a padded grip along with a red switch. Activating the switch initiates the turbines within the hilt, generating kinetic energy that produces the plasma. To form the blade, an extension on the back of the hilt ascends, creating the full plasma blade. The color of the blade is adjustable through the battery pack, offering a range of options including blue, red, green, purple, orange, and white.
Weaknesses
The cost of the blade can be considered excessive due to the resources and the required time into manufacturing the weapon, thus only those among the wealthy can afford to acquire it. The device is very susceptible to water damage. If rain and/or water collide with the blade itself, it will cause a short circuit that would automatically shut off the device due to the conductivity of the water, forcing the user to restart it. Like every battery powered device, once the fuel capsules have been emptied, the user must seek out a Silva Industry factory, engineering aficionados, or its creator Alistair Churchthorn to obtain the necessary materials to refill the battery pack in order to make this weapon functional once more.
Application
The primary function for this technology is to be a weapon. A weapon for self defense, offense, and war. A person who is proficient with a sword should be able to wield this blade. Ultimately, this piece of technology stands as one of the pinnacle inventions of its time, effectively showcasing the utilization of steamtech in contrast to the cymrinite-powered hextech originating from the Elven lands.
