The Gears of Galudon Mission Statement
Our mission is simple: to build a close-knit, welcoming community of passionate roleplayers who are excited to help shape the evolving world of Pannotia. We strive to create an environment where creativity thrives, character development is limitless, and every player feels empowered to leave their mark.
We are committed to fostering collaboration between players and staff, ensuring that the community’s voice is not only heard but actively shapes the world we share. Staff members are held accountable to both their peers and the broader community, with work subject to peer review and feedback channels open and respected.
Above all, we aim to create a space where creativity, fairness, and community spirit come first — where every player can find inspiration, adventure, and belonging.
General Server Rules
- Due to content that isn’t suited for minors, you must be 18+ to gain access to this discord and the server. If you are found to be under the age of eighteen you will face an immediate ban. Anyone who knew about an underage player and did not report it will also face punishment. This rule protects minors from illegal/unsuitable content.
 - Doxing or releasing private information of another member of our community is a punishable offense.
 - Discussions relating to former or other Minecraft servers is permitted if it is in a positive and/or constructive manner. Needless bashing of other Minecraft servers is not permitted, nor is the advertising of other servers.
 - Players are to refrain from backseat moderating. Staff are solely responsible for the moderation of the Gears of Galudon player base. If an issue arises, it's good practice to alert staff via ticket and have staff settle the dispute or situation.
 - To maintain a welcoming and immersive environment, in-depth discussions about real-world religion and politics are not permitted within the community. Players are encouraged to keep all interactions focused on the fictional world of the roleplay to prevent unnecessary conflicts or discomfort. Gears of Galudon is a place for escapism from real world issues and such must be respected. If a conversation begins veering into real-world political or religious topics, staff may step in to redirect the discussion.
 - 𝖡e respectful to your fellow players. This includes polite, mature behavior free from harassment, racism, sexism, homophobia, or targeted attacks. 𝖡oth staff members and server members deserve to be treated with respect and kindness.
 - Engaging with the Gears of Galudon services is a privilege, not a right, and the owners (SpunSugar, BillyTheScruffy) withhold the right to remove individuals or deny entry to any individual that they believe would not be suitable for the atmosphere that Gears of Galudon is trying to foster in respect of its Mission Statement. Player comfortability and maintaining a close knit community free from toxicity and needless drama will always remain paramount.
 - Any use of mods that allow unfair advantage in the game, or cracked accounts/clients are strictly forbidden. If you are unsure if a mod provides an unfair advantage, please make a ticket.
 - The support ticket can be utili𝗓ed to report players that are breaking the rules, to report any issue, to re𝗊uest help or clarification, or to ask to be given a staff application.
 - The unauthorized use or theft of creative content, including characters, artwork, or skins, is strictly prohibited regardless of the medium or place from which it originates. Plagiarism complaints can be made via discord ticket and handled on a case by case basis.
 - More rules may be added as they become necessary.

General Roleplay Rules
- Generally, you should ask before joining a roleplay and maintain a turn order if there are multiple parties in one roleplay. However, in plot-important situations or there’s an occurrence where it wouldn’t make sense to leave out a character, you are not allowed to deny them from being part of the roleplay.(Public gatherings on the main street, etc.)
 - If you are not actively participating in a scene, do not loiter OOC to observe roleplay. If you are viewing the roleplay IC, you must emote to the parties involved that you are present.
 - Players must avoid poor roleplay quirks. Please see here for what constitutes poor roleplay.
 - Players are not permitted to take in-character (IC) grievances and apply them to out-of-character (OOC) interactions. If an issue arises, handle it maturely and respectfully outside of RP, and remember that roleplay is a collaborative storytelling experience—not a personal battleground. Some characters are meant to be unpleasant, antagonistic, or even outright villains—don’t take it personally! A character’s actions, words, or demeanor in roleplay are not a reflection of the player behind them. Characters exist as separate entities from their creators, and interactions in RP should be viewed as part of the story rather than personal attacks.
 - Roleplay within Galudon is centered around the city of Ironhurst and its surrounding areas. Since Ironhurst is considered a "live" setting, players are expected to respect the natural passage of time when traveling. Moving from one end of the city to the other takes time, and characters should not appear to teleport or unrealistically bypass travel constraints. When engaging in roleplay, factor in reasonable response times for movement. If your character is traveling a significant distance, ensure that their arrival aligns with a believable timeframe. This maintains immersion and fairness for all players involved.
 - A player’s real-life absence should never be used against them. If a character holds a significant in-game position (such as nobility, leadership, or government roles), their absence should be explained in-character as being “busy” or “unavailable” rather than penalizing the player. For players with Magnate status, government positions, or other special permissions, it is recommended that they temporarily step down or delegate responsibilities if they need an extended break due to real-life circumstances. This helps keep roleplay flowing smoothly and ensures that essential roles remain active. If a player’s absence begins to significantly disrupt ongoing roleplay, staff will assess the situation and determine an appropriate resolution, which may include temporarily reallocating responsibilities or transitioning leadership to another player.
 - Dynmap is not to be used for metagaming. While Dynmap may be used as a tool to help locate players and find open roleplay, it should not be used to metagame someone’s location, especially in scenarios where your character would have no reasonable way of knowing they were there. If you are in a secluded area and do not wish to be found via Dynmap, we strongly encourage using /dynmap hide your location on the map. However, this does not excuse players from using the map in ways that break immersion or create inorganic interactions.
 - All roleplay politics must remain entirely fictional and independent of real-world political parties, ideologies, or movements. Direct implied references to actual political parties, figures, or real-life political events are not permitted. This ensures an immersive and inclusive environment where all players can engage without real-world biases or conflicts affecting the roleplay experience. Any political themes within roleplay should be original and exist solely within the fictional setting of the community.
 - Resurrection in Galudon is not an accepted or commonplace happenstance. While we have this mechanic on an OOC Level, IC, characters should not assume that they will be brought back from the dead. If players are seen ignoring this rule, reacting to certain death with a cavalier attitude, we will consider that a rule violation. In addition, resurrection is never guaranteed - but is decided on a case by case basis by staff. Information regarding resurrections can be found here.
 - Curses exist in this world but are not equivalent to real-world racial issues. They should be treated as magical afflictions, not social identities. As a cursed individual, you are permitted to view your affliction as a social identity, provided you acknowledge that OOCly this is not the case and that the curse is merely manipulating the character to view it as such as a self-preservation mechanism. OOCly equating curses or roleplay involving the curses to real-world racial issues will result in punitive action.
 - Suicide roleplay is strictly prohibited. Mental health roleplay must be done respectfully and sensitively, avoiding stereotypes or offensive portrayals. If you intend to play a character with mental health issues, you must avoid making their mental health issues the focal point of their character and/or an excuse for criminal behavior.
 - Staff circulated artifacts must be on the possessing player’s character at all times. They cannot be stored to permit fairness of circulation.
 - Do not enter strictly ‘IC’ zones, OOCly. Strictly IC zones are indicated as being so by region notifications as you pass into them (For example, the Royal Palace.)
 - If you wish to cause a disturbance or ‘incident’ at a player or staff event, we require you to message the event host in advance and approve it with them. This is to ensure the steady flow of the event being hosted and keeping it on theme without undermining the work and time of the event hoster.
 - You may not roleplay a character under the age of 18. Moreover, while NPC children are permitted, they are not permitted to be present in any roleplay encounter. Galudon has an intensive history of mandatory boarding schools including nannying schools. Your roleplay child must be implied to be at one of these establishments at all times.

Social Conduct
- Treat fellow players with courtesy. Personal attacks, bullying, or passive-aggressive behavior are not tolerated. Disagreements should be handled calmly and privately when possible.
 - Do not harass other server members. This includes following them around OOC after being told to stop, consistent messaging both on and off the server when told to stop. Harassment includes persistent attempts to contact someone after they have clearly expressed a desire not to be contacted. For example, if someone blocks you on Discord and you create a second account to message them or attempt to continue the conversation on forums, this is considered harassment. Additionally, repeatedly pinging or excessively bumping messages in DMs when someone has not responded is not allowed. If this occurs, the recipient has the right to use Discord’s block or ignore functions, and that block must be respected.
 - If conflicts arise, resolve them through direct, respectful communication. Do not bring personal disputes into public spaces or involve unrelated players. If needed, seek Staff assistance.
 - When offering criticism about RP, character choices, or writing style, be constructive and respectful. Unsolicited harsh criticism can discourage creativity.
 - Not everyone wants to chat OOC constantly. Respect people’s time, privacy, and comfort levels in conversations.
 - Avoid forming exclusive groups that alienate others. Community engagement should be welcoming and inclusive to all players.

Copperguard Rules
- The Copperguard follows the same rules for maiming and execution as outlined in traditional combat roleplay guidelines. This means they may execute or maim characters under specific circumstances. A character becomes eligible for maiming or execution if they meet any of the following criteria: continual repeated arrests for offenses, multiple felony-level charges, committing an act deemed a treasonous offense. However, all maims and executions must be approved in advance by the Crown Arbiter, a staff-controlled NPC. No such actions may be carried out without prior discussion and approval from the staff team.
 - Copperguards are strictly prohibited from entering the Maw and Shademire while in uniform. Any Copperguard who does so will be immediately knocked out, and their uniform will be forcibly stolen in-character. Copperguards may enter Rattletrap while in uniform, but they do so at a disadvantage. As Rattletrap is considered hostile territory to law enforcement, all Copperguards suffer a -4 penalty to all rolls while within its bounds.
 - Copperguard must be in uniform when arresting characters. If they do not have their uniform on at the time of the arrest, or they engage in Copperguard duties without their uniform donned, it is considered an illegal arrest.
 - NPC Copperguards are a present and active element within roleplay and should be acknowledged accordingly. While they do not typically engage in combat, they serve primarily as alerters. If a crime occurs in a populated and active district (e.g., Mainstreet), NPC Copperguards may be alerted and respond to the situation by triggering an alarm. However, they will not engage in combat—this is reserved for staff-played Copperguards, who may arrive if necessary. When they do, they will only appear in limited circumstances and will always match, but not exceed, the number of criminals involved to ensure balanced roleplay.

Combat Roleplay Rules
- Gears of Galudon operates off of a Hit Points combat mechanic. When a character is reduced to 0 Hit Points, the others in the combat scenario are permitted to strike a killing blow or perform a character maim. There exists no requirements to obtain kill or maim permissions from a player to execute their character once they hit 0 Hit Points. However, it is highly recommended that players communicate their intent beforehand during the combat encounter so as not to catch another player off guard. This is to ensure a positive and communicative roleplay environment. Resurrection mechanics exist for characters who are killed, and information on resurrections can be found here. *Prosthetics are freely available for any maim done and may be used at the players discretion.
 - If OOCly agreed upon, players may forgo the typical CRP rolls (Attacking and Defense) detailed on the Combat System here(hyperlink this) and choose their own version of Combat; whether it be honor-based with no rolls involved at all, or an alternate set of rules they believes suits the encounter more. Should a new party join the scene, rules will revert to the base system unless they also agree to the change. You cannot force a person to play by alternate rules and if one cannot be agreed on by all parties involved, it deters back to base system rules.
 - If an Ability or Skill has a Cooldown that involves a time, for example; 1 hour, this factors on OOC time spent in the scene or other scenes. It is metagaming and powergaming to stall the scene long enough with OOC remarks or refusal to emote in hopes of gaining back the use of the chosen ability. If a Cooldown states a turn timer, a turn is a rotation around every participant and it ends when returning to you.

Discord Rules
- All players are required to adhere to Discords Terms of Service.
 - Your discord nickname on the Gears of Galudon discord must match your verified in-game minecraft username. This is to ensure that players know who they’re communicating with and so that staff can more easily carry out their duties.
 - Excessive walls of text, multiple messages in 𝗊uick succession, and spamming of any sort of media that is non-conducive to the ongoing conversation in a respective channel is not allowed. 𝖱aids (which are a large amount of people/bots joining a server to spam) are forbidden.
 - All players are required to adhere to the rules displayed in the description of each channel on the Gears of Galudon discord server. Please ensure you read these descriptions before posting in any of our channels.
 - out-of-Character (OOC) finger-pointing, accusations, or callouts regarding In-Character (IC) actions are not permitted in Discord. If you take issue with IC conduct, it must be addressed in character through proper roleplay channels—such as public noticeboards, in-game rallies, debates, or public flaming scenes.Keep roleplay in the roleplay. Using Discord to stir drama, wage "meme warfare," or create OOC pressure over IC actions undermines the integrity of the experience and will be moderated accordingly. Excessive or targeted meme posting aimed at IC situations or characters may be removed or lead to further action.
 - Voice channels are meant for collaborative play and socializing. If players are actively engaged in a game or roleplay, using the voice chat to air grievances or bring down the overall vibe is not permitted. Additionally, voice chats must follow all other rules as set out on this page. Everyone should feel comfortable and welcomed in voice channels. If you have an issue or concern, please address it privately or in an appropriate space, rather than disrupting the mood or flow of the chat channel.
 - Excessive pinging—whether individual users, roles, or groups—is discouraged and may be moderated. Pings should be used purposefully and respectfully, not to demand attention, express frustration, or spam. only ping when necessary (e.g., urgent updates, relevant questions, or event coordination), and avoid repeated pings if someone hasn’t responded right away. Let people engage at their own pace.
 - To ensure everyone has space to enjoy and engage with events, hosts are recommended to leave a minimum of 1 hour—ideally 2 hours—between the end of one event and the start of another. This helps prevent overlap, burnout, and gives players time to reset, debrief, or travel IC between scenes. If you're planning an event, please check the schedule and coordinate timing to respect this buffer. Excessive back-to-back events without spacing may be rescheduled at staff discretion.
 - All content should be posted in the relevant channels to maintain organization and clarity. For example, artwork, character apps, and related materials should be shared in their designated areas. Additionally, mocking or disparaging others' artwork, character applications, or creations is strictly prohibited. We foster a supportive and respectful environment where everyone’s contributions are valued. Negative comments or behaviors can result in disciplinary action.
 - AI-generated art is not permitted on the Gears of Galudon discord server. Please note that the use of AI art is highly discouraged within the community and any posting of AI Art will be deleted by staff. We encourage original artwork and creative expression, and AI art should not replace or overshadow these efforts.

NSFW Rules
- Certain NSFW-related roleplay content is allowed in pre-defined, designated channels only. This content must always comply with server rules and respect boundaries. However, any content involving or implying underage characters—even in fictional or ambiguous contexts—is strictly forbidden. Posting such content will result in an immediate server ban and a report to Discord for Terms of Service violations. Additionally, there are specific NSFW topics that are entirely prohibited on this server. These topics may not be referenced, implied, or roleplayed in any form. A full list of these restricted subjects can be found here. Please note: the linked content may contain potentially triggering material, but we have taken care to spoiler sensitive or explicit examples for viewer discretion.
 - All erotic roleplay (ERP) must be preceded by clear, mutual, and enthusiastic consent from both parties, both OOC and in RP. This consent must be explicitly communicated via text in-game or through Discord DMs before any ERP takes place and not through voice channels. Both players are equally responsible for ensuring consent is given and understood before engaging. Consent must be ongoing, meaning that either party can withdraw at any time. A lack of objection does not imply consent—affirmative agreement is required. No is a full sentence and must be respected. Additionally, no player should ever be coerced into ERP in any way, whether through pressure, manipulation, or implied consequences. Any violation of this rule can be reported via ticket or directly to BillyTheScruffy or SpunSugar for review. Players may choose to request an additional party be added to their ticket or administrative conversation for the purpose of comfort. Failure to adhere to this rule may result in moderation actions.
 - Players must always ask a player before posting provocative or NSFW images/media to the receiving players DMs. Players Discord accounts are used day round, and are often checked while at work. As such, punitive measures may be taken if provocative or NSFW images/media are sent to a player without asking beforehand.
 - NSFW regions have been set up across the city of Ironhurst which require click input for players to enter. These regions make themselves known as you walk into them, and block the player from entering without having accepted the text chat prompt. While NSFW roleplay itself cannot be posted in text channels outside of the NSFW in game chat here, its more likely you will come across players engaging in such roleplay in these areas. “Softcore” versions of NSFW roleplay that allude to NSFW acts can be posted in these areas. Players must not accept the chat prompt to enter these regions if they are not comfortable with potentially encountering such roleplay.
 - All NSFW content must be posted in the /nsfw chat channel. By default, this channel is on however it can be toggled off each time you log on with /seensfw. NSFW chat usage is restricted to private areas such as rental regions or any region marked with an NSFW region zone as explained above. However players are permitted to use /nsfw chat in areas where there is likely to be no players coming through, however if players not involved in that encounter happen upon it, the roleplay must pause and be relocated.

Rules regarding Staff
- Staff members who moderate serverside issues have the final say in any conflicts. Staff rely on player respect to carry out their duties effectively and prevent issues from spiralling into unneeded strife. As such, all players must heed a staff’s ruling without debate. All players may make Staff complaints regarding staff decisions via our discord ticket system which will alert the server’s admins (SpunSugar, BillyTheScruffy, Messtro) to the issue.
 - Staff will always do their best to moderate fairly and impartially, ensuring all players are treated with respect and consideration. Dog-piling on players, whether in discussions or moderation actions, will not be tolerated.Staff are expected to approach each situation thoughtfully and with empathy, fostering a positive and fair environment for everyone. If you feel a decision has been made in error, please reach out calmly and privately.
 - Staff are players who volunteer their time to better the server, be sure to treat them as you would anyone else, with courtesy and respect. Treat staff with respect the same way you are expected to treat players with respect. Staff are volunteer workers and should be treated with kindness in lieu of their time dedicated to improving player experiences.
 - You cannot request logs from staff members but you can request a roleplay line count to monitor your overall activity on the server. Similarly you cannot request logs regarding other players or other players line counts.

Do not purposely ping your ticket daily, staff are volunteers and have real lives and commitments outside of Gears of Galudon and often may take a bit to get to your ticket. You must allow up to a minimum of 48 hours before bumping your ticket.
- Staff are not immune to the server’s constitution, community guidelines or rules. Players are encouraged to make a report against a staff member to BillyTheScruffy or SpunSugar via private DM with any evidence or testimonials they have. All reports remain confidential.
 - Staff are not required to answer questions or queries in DM’s. These are reserved for tickets. Staff Discord accounts are used outside of the remit of Gears of Galudon staff work and must be respected for such. As such, tickets are the default and recommended place to ask Gears of Galudon related questions, queries or the airing of concerns.
