History

The first noted point of this creation came from the idea of how spiders will carry their young on their back. Those small little bodies carrying the weight of hundreds of thousands of lives on their back and one splat can cause an explosion of baby spiders. This is where the truly horrifying idea came to be with the bomb aspect of this creation.

The secondary inspiration for this comes from the average large scale hair claw clamping clip. They are quite strong and can hold alot of hair in place and even the more durable heavy duty ones are quite hard to shark off when they are attached or clamped to the shirt. With this in mind came the idea of making them far more powerful with their clamping skill. The idea that a toy with the ability to move around along surfaces by putting their limbs into the cracks of bricks to help it climb up walls and then pressing deep into the rock, brick, cloth, or wood to stay clamped in place makes for a fun chance for a little spider on the wall.

With that in mind the idea of the spider machine being able to climb up walls or even be able to clamp around something is the first part of the invention. Meanwhile, the secondary part comes with the small gel like sack it will carry on its back which could contain one of two things: a small bundle of confetti that ‘explodes’ with the same amount of party powder that is found in party poppers or high power explosives, that are often found in bullet rounds, and shrapnel. One version of the explosive is a fun way to play a game of Surprise Pop while the other version could be used by aerial flying beings or ships to drop down high power explosives that will crawl and stick to buildings, animals, or people.

Construction

Explosive Sack

  • The first point of this invention tends to be the most dangerous part first. THeir are two versions of the shell that are made for this. One being a soft metal shell of that is made when softened metal is taken and shaved down to a thin layer and covered in a slick coating of either dye or polish to help give it a smoothen texture and a version where thin leather is dried and sewn into a small ball.
    • Leather Version: This hand sewn sack is often times the easier of the two that are made as it is quite easy to attach it all in one go and contains far less explosives.
      • For Version 1 (toy)(Leather Version): The contents of this include a set of high tension wiring connected to the arms of the spider, a small amount of Party Powder Explosives (classified as a indoor firework powder)(.25-.75 grains of explosive), as well as long paper streamers and confetti squares. The contents of the paper are added into the sac as the high tension wiring are fed through the sack to connect with the front two feet of the spider and the back two feet of the spider (this is meaning four wires are connected) so that no matter if one leg malfunctions there is a pull to activate the timer of the explosive. When the spider clamps down on a target or item there will be a minute before the small explosion sounds causing confetti and streamers to shoot outwards in a fun nature method.

Clamping Legs

  • The next aspect of the machine would be the Clamping and movement mechanisms which is quite similar to the hopper mouse limb movement however with more low tension to the limbs and with six legs. The limbs of the machine are made out of multi plated short limbs with each limb having many joint like parts and small hooks at the end of the “feet” to help them crawl up walls via the cracks and up clothing. These multi-metal jointed limbs help to give the spider a more easy movement but also make it easier for them to crawl up cloth and brick with ease, however they do take far more time to make.

Mechanic Body and Protect Shell

  • One each of the six legs of the Spider Bomb are complete then comes the semi-easy part, ensuring each of them hook up and are attached via a wiring and plate system to the body of the spider. The body of the spider is two parts, a bottom part where the legs are fed into slots, six slots in total, to help protect the inner workings of the gears that help the spider's legs move. The method of which this spider moves in any given direction is simply based on the fact that there is a key screw mechanic, winding it up and sending it in a general direction and when it runs out of movement it will simply clamp down on anything it can. However, another version can be used and activated in the way of flipping the key in the opposite direction activating the clamping mechanic so by throwing the Spider Bomb at a direction it will clamp down onto the first thing it makes contact with.
  • Then comes the upper shell which is made of a denser metal to help protect the spider's mechanical “guts” from the outside forces like possibly being stepped on or being dropped. The protective top of the shell will have a dent circle with a hole in it where one can feed the wiring of the Explosive sack in. These wires can easily be then attached to the detonation rod attached to the explosive shell.
  • From there the engineer would have to feed each tension wire attached to the outer shell of the Spider Bomb where the Explosive sack is attached and then the explosive metal shell is placed within the slot of the upper body shell. After it is secured in place the contents of the explosive shell are filled and sealed off. From there, you have yourself either a Confetti Spider or Spider Claw Bomb.

Application

This invention has the ability to move in any general direction and move up clothed, cloth, brick, and wood walls with ease. Once the toy has run out of steps due to how much it was cranked or if it was put into clamp mode and it is clamped down the contents of the Spider Bomb back will explode: either it be heavy explosive and shrapnel.

The biggest weakness of this invention is the fact that the legs of the machine are quite thin and small on a smaller scale version which means they can break with just one wrong kick. As well, the stomachs of these machines are quite thin meaning that if you stepped on its stomach side you can easily destroy it. However, this also means you'd activate the explosive sacks on their back due to the legs of the machine clamping down.
